Kristian Wilson has been making music outside of college for about a year - and with the help of ReGenesis Youth Project – two of his songs will be turned into music videos. His first ever music video was recorded in the centre of Birmingham City on Friday the 18th of November.

One warm, sunny, summer’s day, Kris first performed his songs publicly at Handsworth Park, where his view of life changed. He thought that performing would make him even more inclined to look after himself, but out there in front of the crowd, suddenly he realised that he cared more for the audience – what they were hearing, and what they were feeling. He wanted them to understand what he had to say in his music.

Since then, Kris has been supported by Mr. D R Wallace, managing director of ReGenesis Youth UK CIC and coordinater of the performing arts project, with songwriting and studio recording sessions. Kris has called it, "life changing, and a welcome challenge."

Kris believes, instead of making music simply for energetic vibes and cool beats, without narrative or feeling, music should express powerful messages that give people an artistic insight into real life. Kris wants to bring good into the world, perhaps inspiring people to be their best, pursue their goals, and live in hope. This is demonstrated clearly in his first song, ‘Work on Your Passion,’ which is about nurturing your talent and doing what you love in the hope that one day what you love will love you by bringing you success, guidance and contentment in life.

Studying acting at BOA Stage and Screen Production Academy, Kris was able to create his music video with the help of his friends: including technical crew and many actors. One actor, Poppy Gillan, has described working on Kris’s music video as, “chaotic, but fun getting it all done!”

On Friday the 18th of November, Kris – with his peers’ support and guidance from his director, Russel Green (a part of ReGenesis Youth Project) – Kris starred in his first music video for ‘Who Cares?’ – a song about the beauty of young love.
